SPORT DEVELOPMENT OFFICER (NETBALL & SOFTBALL) 2 POSTS READVERTISEMENT 

SPORT DEVELOPMENT OFFICER -NETBALL -RE-ADVERTISEMENT

Opportunity
  1. Reporting directly to the Sport Development Manager - Technical, the incumbents will be responsible for promoting and enhancing sport development initiatives for the Botswana Netball Association (BONA) as well as facilitating capacity building in the area of coaching, refereeing/umpiring, adjudication and any other such essential field for the development of the BONA.

     

Key tasks and responsibilities

Implementation of development plans of the BONA in line with the Botswana Long Term Athlete Development (BLTAD).

  • Existence of clear plans for the talent scouting and development.

    • Liaison with schools and institutions on general sports development matters.

    • Maintenance of database of Netball Clubs, Athletes, Sport Administrators and Sport Technicians.

    • Monitoring and enhancement of the Code’s performance. 

    • Facilitation of National Teams’ participation in international competitions 

    • Timely preparation of reports.

 

  Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Development/ Physical Education, or related field or equivalent. Qualifications/ Licenses such as Coaching and Umpiring are an added advantage. 

 

Experience

Minimum three (3) years’ experience in sporting environment and technical knowledge of the Netball or Softball sport.
