1.1. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that all procurement activities are conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Public Procurement Act, regulations and processes as well as providing advice to the Chief Executive Officer on any procurement in the Commission.
1.2. Key tasks and responsibilities
1.2.1. Effective pre-adjudication and recommendation of tender awards to the Chief Executive Officer.
1.2.2. Understanding & Compliance to the Public Procurement laws and related regulatory frameworks
1.2.3. Strategic Orientation
1.2.4. Negotiating & lobbying
1.3. Qualifications and Experience
1.3.1. Degree in Procurement, Supplies Chain and Materials Management or equivalent business related qualification, with Full CIPS qualification with a Masters as an added advantage.
1.3.2. At least 7 years of post-qualification experience including a minimum of 3 years in a comparable supervisory level. Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) is required.
