APPOINTMENT OF THE BNSC BOARD

The public is informed that the Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development Hon. Tumiso Rakgare has appointed a new Botswana National Sport Council Board led by Mr Marumo Morule as Chairman. The appointment is made in terms of Section 5 of the Botswana National Sport Commission Act 2014. The eleven (11) Member Board is appointed with immediate effect for a period of 4 years and consists of the following:

  1. Mr Marumo Morule as Chairman. Mr Morule is widely experienced in matters of sport administration and strategic leadership. He has served as President of Botswana Softball Association, Chairman of the Local Organising Committee of the BNOC and Former Vice President of Zone VI softball.
  2. Colonel Botsang Tshenyego in his capacity as the Botswana National Olympic Committee President.
  3. Mr Tuelo Serufho in his capacity as Secretary General of the Botswana National Olympic Committee.
  4. Dr. Khaulani Fichani representing BNSC affiliates.
  5. Mr Gift Nkwe also representing BNSC affiliates.
  6. Mr Geoffrey Gare representing the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development.
  7. Ms Tebogo Peggy Lebotse-Sebego as a specialist in Communications and Sport Administration.
  8. Mr David Moatshe as a representative of Paralympic Sports Association of Botswana (PASSOBO)
  9. Ms Neoyame Katisenge representing Women and Sport Botswana (WASBO)
  10. Mr Simon Coles representing the Ministry of Basic Education, and
  11. Mr Steven Ludick representing the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development.

The appointed members are highly competent individuals who are capable of providing oversight and strategic direction to the BNSC. They are tasked with leading Botswana sport to competitiveness on the world stage through good governance, sound administration, effective sport development programmes, and an overall athlete centered approach.

We wish them well in this very important national assignment.
